FLUX 3: when control matters more than another first draft

FLUX 3 IMAGE / NOW IN ASTRIA

Don’t restart the image to make a late art-direction change.

FLUX 3 is now available in Astria. It combines up to ten references, supports image generation and edits in one workflow, and is available at 2K. These examples use the same handbag source—and only the results that passed a product-fidelity review.

FLUX 3 copy-safe handbag layout

1. Leave room for the message.

We asked for the bag low in the frame and clean negative space above it. The model made the room. It also changed the viewing angle, which is exactly why a usable output still needs a product check before it goes live.

FLUX 3 handbag in editorial context

2. Take an approved product into an editorial context.

The same bag’s color, pattern, hardware, and strap survive an on-model editorial frame. This is the useful handoff: start from the approved product reference, then test a context without rebuilding the entire shot from scratch.

What our matched comparison found.

With the same model, dress, bag references, prompt, and 2K output, FLUX 3 gave us the most naturally editorial photograph and retained key garment and bag details. Nano Banana 2 followed the unusual pose more literally; GPT Image 2.5 finished first; Seedream 5 remains the one we would test first for difficult color and fabric texture.

  • Use FLUX 3 when the brief needs composition or context changes after the product is approved.
  • Start at 2K, approve the composition, then inspect silhouette, print, hardware, and attachments against the source.
  • Do not treat “precise edit” as automatic product accuracy: in our material-only test, the bag geometry drifted, so we excluded it.

Practical caveat: public multi-edit tests are promising, but long edit chains can add noise. Treat FLUX 3 as a control tool, not a replacement for approval.
