Choose accurate references
In this video, I'll show you how to choose reference photos that help the AI show our product accurately: its shape, its color and its details. More references aren't always better. Extra images that don't help explain the product can confuse the AI.
Photograph the product clearly
First, make the product easy to see. For a simple T-shirt, a clear phone photo may be enough. For more detailed garments, consider a DSLR camera with even flash lighting, and keep the white balance consistent so the colors look accurate. Iron out unwanted creases before you shoot, since they may show up in the generated image too. Keep the garment's real seams and details visible.
Show details the front cannot show
Next, look for details the front photo doesn't show. If there's a logo or a different color on the back, add a back photo so the AI has that information. For a T-shirt with a plain back, the front photo may be enough. And if the AI repeats the front print on the back, say in the prompt that the back is plain.
Choose a useful shoe reference
The same idea applies to shoes: choose a photo that shows the details we need. When the shoes are part of an outfit, use one clear photo from the front, at about forty-five degrees. It shows the front and the side together. Several similar photos don't add useful information. If the shoes are the main product, extra references may help show their details.
Leave out what will not appear
Also think about what will appear in the shot. For a full-length image that shows the shoes, include their reference. If the shot cuts them out, remove the shoe reference. Otherwise, we're giving the AI a reference for something we don't want it to show.
Keep instructions focused
Some information is easier to explain in words. Use the prompt to add what the photos don't make clear. Keep it focused. You don't need a long description copied from another chat.
Explain fit the photo cannot show
For example, a product photo of balloon jeans may not show how roomy they should look on the body. Add "balloon fitting" to the prompt to describe the intended fit. Then generate, compare the fit with the real garment, and adjust the wording if it still needs work.

Now our references show the product details we need, and the prompt explains the fit. We kept the information useful and specific, so the AI has a clearer picture of the real product.
